While we were out on Friday night, my neice, Avenly, who was babysitting had this to report:
She asked the kids if they wanted to stay up a little later than normal, and Davis paused to reflect. Then he announced, "We are going to get coal in our stockings."
It took Avenly a minute to convince him that staying up a late didn't constitute a coal-worthy offense.
We've really got these kids trained don't we?

Yeah, but I felt so sorry for my kids when they actually stressed and worried that they might not get gifts from Santa that I told them, "Don't worry! I promise you won't get coal in your stockings! I KNOW you're on the good list!" So now they (James) think they (James) can get away with anything. I guess that one backfired on me.
We actually have coal behind our house so our kids know Santa can stop there and pick up a piece if he needs to :).
