Roast

Why is it that one of D's favorite meals--crockpot roast, potatoes, and carrots is one of my LEAST? Seriously, it is a big hunk of red meat and soft potatoes-bleh! Just smelling the meat cooking brings back nasty memories of sitting at the dinner table on Sunday afternoons gagging my food down.

Too bad it is such an easy meal to make. . . .

aw, I like it. Maybe it's because pancakes is as fancy as we get for Sunday dinners around here.

I'm with D!!! That is also one of my favorites as well as Brandon. We eat that a lot on Sundays.

It used to be one of Brian's favorites until he served a mission in Colorado and had it at least 3 times a week at members homes!! Now, he will NOT EAT it! It's fine with me though- I agree with you- tasteless meat and soft veggies- YUCK! Maybe if you make it like everyday for a month then he'll get sick of it and you won't have to make it for a few years!

Ahhh...I'm with you Camilla. It is not something I'm usually interested in eating...or smelling. Wanna know my trick? Plug the crock pot in outside (or in the garage)...then you don't even have to smell it!

I made the best meal the other day that was a spin on traditional roast. Get a PORK roast. Trim fat off and brown meat on all sides with a little olive oil. Put about 2 cups dried lentils in bottom of crockpot. Throw in a couple of whole garlic cloves. Put roast on top with some water and the drippings from the pan. You may need to add some more water halfway through so the lentils don't get dry. Cook on low. At the end mash the garlic and stir it into the lentils. The meat shreads and the lentils are so tender and flavorful. YUM.

It was SO good.
